Travel Alberta

Travel Alberta holds a special place in my heart. Through experiences in Edmonton and Calgary, I've been closely tied to the brand, whether through Economic Development or the Government of Alberta. I've had the privilege of Art Directing and Creative Directing unforgettable moments. The showcased work is a fusion of efforts from Karo and Venture Communications.

Campaign: (remember to breathe)

Agency: Karo
Role:
Art Director (Karo)

The Travel Alberta brand embodies the adventurous spirit of this stunning Canadian province.

This campaign serves as a reminder to step back from our hectic daily lives and rediscover the joys of travel. For some, it may be a reminder to slow down and savor each moment as they rush from one exciting experience to the next. Above all, it is a deeply personal journey for each traveler, capturing that thrill of anticipation and excitement as we embark on something new. Whether you're exploring far-flung corners of the world or simply taking a weekend road trip, this campaign encourages us to embrace the beauty of travel and all it has to offer.

The Travel Alberta brand is as far-reaching as our visitors themselves.

Built on the idea of that moment when you step outside and are struck by the epic skies, giving you goosebumps. The breathtaking cinematography of Sean Thonson, renowned for his ability to craft action-packed scenes, is paired with the stunning photo stills of George Simhoni, Anthony Redpath, Roth and Ramberg, and Hubert Kang. Our goal was to showcase the endless adventure and breathtaking beauty of this Canadian province, appealing to both adrenaline junkies and nature lovers alike. So come and discover all that Alberta has to offer - there is something for everyone in this stunning destination.

Driven by my passion for capturing the beauty of Alberta's natural landscapes, I approached the owner of the Panther Creek Lodge with a request to take us up in his private helicopter to get a breathtaking view of the mountains and the Prairies. The stunning photograph taken by Roth and Ramberg for Travel Alberta perfectly showcases the rugged beauty of the cowboys, the majestic mountains, and the endless Prairies. It is no surprise that this image has captured the attention of numerous award shows, including Lürzer's Archive Graphis and Applied Arts. This recognition is a true testament to the talent and dedication of all involved and the unparalleled natural beauty that Alberta has to offer. As a creative director, I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to showcase this remarkable photo and to have been a part of capturing the Alberta experience in all its glory.

Campaign: Alberta Stories

Agency: Venture Communications
Role:
Creative Director

The breathtaking beauty of Alberta has been brought to life through the skilled film crew at Joe Media Group and the acclaimed director Eppo Eerkes. In collaboration with Travel Alberta, we crafted a stunning collection of 32 short social films that have captivated global travelers and fueled successful social media campaigns. With agile and remote teams traversing the province to capture free-form video and photography, they have captured the essence of Alberta, from its natural wonders to bustling city streets. Their hard work and talent have been recognized by prestigious industry groups such as The Webby Awards, Lürzer's Archive, and the AdRodeo. It is an honor to have been a part of this journey and to share the splendor of Alberta with the world.

This all-encompassing integrated campaign featured a multitude of elements, including thousands of digital display ads, 32 social media stories, a variety of travel guides, experiential campaigns, and international campaigns supporting multiple languages. It was a massive undertaking that aimed to showcase the beauty and diversity of Alberta to a global audience. Through these various mediums, we invited travelers from all corners of the world to come and experience all that Alberta has to offer.

In all seriousness, though, this photo I took of George Simhoni really does embody the importance of remembering to take a moment to breathe and find inner peace, especially in these hectic times. So, let's all take a cue from George and make sure to carve out some time for relaxation and mindfulness in our daily lives. Trust me, your stressed-out mind (and Instagram followers) will thank you.
